Even though TikTok was launched only in 2016, it’s been lightning quick at attracting users and currently features among the most popular social media platforms in the world. That’s not all. It’s also the fastest-growing social media network, ahead of the king of social media, Facebook, and ranks among the top social media channels used by marketers. Given its reach and influence, arming yourself with key TikTok user statistics is key to creating an effective marketing strategy on the platform. To that end, one key piece of data you need to know is the age of TikTok users.

TikTok age demographics: breakdown

TikTok has always been known to be especially popular among teens and Gen Z users. But to what extent?

According to recent research studying TikTok users by age, the majority of TikTokers are between the ages of 18 to 24. More specifically, 39.91% of all TikTok users—or two out of every five—fall within this age range. Interestingly, female TikTokers in this age group outnumber their male counterparts by nearly 2.5 times.

Male TikTok users aged 18 to 24: 11.97%

Female TikTok users aged 18 to 24: 27.94%

The second-largest age group of TikTok users is teens aged 13 to 17, with 27.37% of them belonging to this range. There are also many more female (19.5%) than male (7.87%) users in this age group. The percentage of TikTok users 13 to 17 years of age is also just marginally higher than the 25 to 34 group, which makes up 25.11% of all TikTokers. These TikTok age demographics statistics show that a whopping 92.39% of all TikTok users are aged 13 to 34, painting a clear picture of TikTok’s appeal to teens and young adults. Looking at the rest of TikTok users, the data shows that just 5.97% of them are from 35 to 44 years old. The 45 to 54 age group makes up 1.67% of all TikTokers, followed by the 55+ group, with 0.32%. These TikTok user statistics also show that there are slightly more male users among those aged 35 and above, while in the younger age demographics, female TikTok users significantly outnumber males.

Absolutely despicable!!

I signed up for the 30-day free trial and immediately was not happy. It’s great that you can schedule posts but a message went up within the week saying that the app would no longer be able to support location services (meaning I can’t tag the location). Soon after, I got a notification saying hashtags would not be supported. I’m not sure that any of these things actually ceased to be supported but the doubt was enough for me to stop using the product. I tried to cancel but of course there was no clear way to cancel so I waited for the warning email that is promised on the website Q&A section, figuring there might be some instructions there. Suddenly I am charged and my bank calls to ask if it’s a fraudulent charge. Of course it is!!! But they can’t hold the money bc I didn’t know you should use a debit card for free trials. I went to customer service and they put it on me saying I’m “responsible for managing” my card. I was lead to believe I would get the email and I could manage the account from there but I never did receive that email. No responsibility was taken on their part and I have screenshots of everything to prove that they did not deliver what they promised and I should not have to pay for something that was not agreed upon. Anyway, get FOLLOW ADDER instead. It’s much more reasonably priced and does more work for you. It supports hashtags. Oh and they don’t lie!
