Do Google employees make millions?

Google pays salaries as high as $1 million a year. See how much engineers, developers and thousands of other employees at the search engine company make.

Though Google slowed hiring in 2022, thousands of people are still joining the company. We analyzed H-1B visa applications to get a sense of how much Google pays employees. One person in the data made $1 million as a base salary. See what others got. Google may have slowed hiring this year, but it's still recruiting in many priority areas, such as cloud computing, hardware, search, and more. Although Google does not share how much it pays employees, it is required to disclose salary offers in work-visa applications submitted to the US Office of Foreign Labor Certification. Insider combed recent data from this office, which authorizes hiring non-US employees, then publicly releases the information. The data excludes stock grants that can significantly increase total compensation, but it is a valuable guide to Google salaries for a variety of positions, including engineers, managers, and more. The analyzed salaries from the second quarter of 2022 mainly represent workers in California, Washington, and New York. The highest-paid person in the data set is Google's chief people officer, Fiona Cicconi, who is paid a $1 million base salary, in line with other top execs at the company who saw a similar pay bump at the start of the year. The lowest-paid person represented in the data is an associate data center operations facility technician in North Carolina who was offered $54,516.80. Here's a breakdown of what Google pays many other employees. The broad categories are taken from filings by the Office of Foreign Labor Certification. Roles are listed below only if there are at least five candidates. When you are done checking out the data below, take a look at Insider's Big Tech salary database to see how much Apple, Microsoft, Intel, Facebook, and other companies pay their workers.
