A strong, loving family full of fun and grace has universal appeal, and the show, Bluey, shows a family and community of care and remembering what’s important. Bluey is a six-year-old puppy. She has a younger sister, Bingo, and they live with their mom and dad. Their lives are full of fun and playtime along with lessons along the way from parents and other adults that treat the kids with respect and love. Each character brings their own unique personality and strengths into the family, and when there is conflict, they solve issues through love and understanding. The TV show, Bluey, was made in Australia and broadcast on ABC Family and now streams on Disney+. Each episode is around 8 minutes long and deals with one idea. The Australian culture, accent, and different terms for things give the show an extra amount of charm, especially for US audiences, although the show is hugely popular in Australia, too. The animation is amazing and simple, but each episode is complex enough that parents and kids can both relate. The parents play with the kids a great deal while also working through disobedience and other common family issues. The parents learn things along the way, too. All this helps kids and adults to relate to the show, and several moments are laugh-out-loud funny. Viewers will fall in love with this family and show.
