The old-school four P’s of marketing – product, price, placement, and promotion – focused on what to sell and how and when to reach people. Companies churned out products, followed a formula to price and place them in the market and let promotion take them home. To put it lightly, the four P’s have lost their punch. It’s time to enter some E’s into the equation. The future of marketing involves the 4 E’s: experience, engagement, exclusivity, and emotion. Instead of how and when the 4 E’s consider why someone would connect with a product or service.

Experience

Through experience marketing, customers get to know you and your product or service so they can make a lasting, real connection and share it with others. Think live events, product launches, demonstrations, and pop-up shops. A recent Event Track survey found that 85% of consumers are likely to buy a product after participating in these types of events and experiences.

Engagement

As with any type of engagement, it takes time but is worth the effort. Seventy-four percent of customers shared that they are more likely to buy a product through engagement marketing than other types of promotion.

There are five types of engagement marketing and specific examples include:

asking for feedback free classes how-to videos sharing information about a complementary product after a purchase donating an item to a charity for each item bought

Exclusivity

Call it FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) or the inherent need to belong, exclusivity strikes at the heart of human needs. For businesses, creating exclusive offers and experiences builds momentum and loyalty. Creating waiting lists, having company owners personally invite clients to product launches, setting deadlines for purchases to earn discounts, creating preview sales, and limiting quantities are key components of exclusivity strategy.

Emotion

We all want to feel like we are part of something bigger than ourselves and that our choices influence the greater good. Brands and companies can tap into these emotions to build a loyal following through storytelling, imagery, and authenticity. Share why you developed a product or service, the bios of your staff members, photos and history of the “early days” of your business, customer success stories, images of your product in action, and videos of your company giving back to the community. P.S. stands for Post-scriptum, latin word for "written after". In a letter you use it when you forgot to write something and already signed your letter; then you add "P.S. what you forgot". With emails it's obviously not useful, but it's still used to emphasize on something. In your sentence, of course it's hard to forget to say "I love you", so it's just used to emphasize the fact you love that person, used in both letters and emails. It's often used in love letters actually. And it's indeed the name of a movie - based on a novel (both are really nice).
