Refine Your Social Networks Strategy

Social media publishers and content marketers often struggle with how to best publish their content. They want to maximize reach and impact while keeping up with the pace of posts. But even though there are many different ways to do this, one method seems to work better than others: following audience activity patterns.

But what does "following audience activity patterns" mean exactly?

Well, it's pretty simple. You just follow the same pattern as your audience. Post when your audience is active online. This works because people are more likely to engage with content that matches their interests and habits. And since we tend to spend more time online during our downtime, it makes sense that we'd be interested in engaging with brands and products that match those interests. So, how do you know what your audience's activity patterns look like? Well, it depends on where you use social media. For example, on Facebook, you can check out Insights for Audience Activity Patterns under the Posts tab. And don't forget to take note of the times of day when your audience is most active. These insights might change depending on your niche or industry, so keep tabs on them. Audience Insights is a reporting feature that gives you access to detailed analytics for audience interactions to every post, including likes, comments, shares, and impressions. These social reports show how many people saw a particular photo, video, link, or text post. You can also check out insights like "People Who Liked This Also Like..." and "People Who Commented On This Also Posted…" These insights give you a deeper understanding of your audience and help you determine whether something resonated with them. When it comes to planning out our Instagram feeds, we usually start with a rough idea of what we want to post each month. We might think about topics like product launches, holiday promotions, special events, etc., and try to come up with a few ideas to fill those gaps. But often, we find ourselves struggling to keep up with the amount of content we have to produce every day. This leads us to either overwork ourselves or give up altogether and let our feed fall into disarray. For some people, however, this problem doesn’t exist. They seem to effortlessly manage multiple campaigns at once without having to worry about running out of ideas. And while there are many reasons why someone could be able to do this, one common factor seems to be how much thought goes into creating content ahead of time. The upcoming section on Automation is key.

We asked several social media marketers to tell us about their strategies for managing multiple accounts and campaigns at once, and here’s what they told us:

1. Think about content in monthly or even weekly categories

If you look at the most popular brands on Instagram, you’ll notice that they tend to follow a similar schedule. For example, Nike releases new products around the holidays, and Apple announces major updates to their devices during the summer months. By thinking about content in different categories, you’re less likely to run out of things to say. You can always add more to your list later, but at least you’ve got something to work off of now. Think of how the different seasons would create a need for your product or service. The same thing applies to your content strategy. If you know you’ll be busy for a week, or even just a couple of days, plan your content ahead of time. Instead of spending hours brainstorming ideas, you can spend 20 minutes writing down everything you want to cover and then move on to the next batch.

3. Posting at Off Hours May Hurt Engagement Rates

Posts published during the evening hours generated less user engagement than those posted during the morning or afternoon, according to a recent study. In fact, the average engagement rate dropped by 20% for posts published between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. compared to those published between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The reason behind this drop isn't clear. One theory is that people aren't paying attention to social networks at night because they're tired. Another possibility is that people are busy doing other things around that time, such as sleeping or working. Whatever the case may be, avoid publishing posts at night unless you want to lose followers.

Be Sure To Automate Your Social Media Publishing

Automating your social media publishing saves you time and energy. You don’t have to spend hours every day thinking about what you want to post next, how much it costs, and whether or not it’s worth sharing. And you won’t have to worry about being banned or penalized by Facebook or Twitter. With automation, you can just sit back and let the evergreen publishing tools do the work.

Automating your social media publishing allows you to spend less time managing each post and more time focusing on growing your audience. There are many different advanced features within automation tools to help you manage your social media presence. Here are some examples of the essential features:

1. Schedule your posts in advance

You can set up automated scheduling to post regularly throughout the week at optimal times. This way, you’ll never miss out on important news, events, or promotions. Once the scheduler is set, your posts will magically appear!

2. Create multiple accounts

If you already have several social media profiles, you might consider creating separate ones for each account. Then, you can schedule one profile to automatically post to another. For example, you could use one account to post to Instagram, while another handles Facebook. Facebook Messenger Bots are an easy way to get started with automation. You can create a bot that will send messages to specific groups or individuals.
