Why We Chose It

Another great app to use to sell items locally is OfferUp, and you can sell anything from used cars to clothes to baby items. With OfferUp, you can also select whether you’d prefer to sell the item locally or ship it nationwide. If you're a more serious seller, you can promote your item via the OfferUp app to reach more potential sellers. As far as getting paid, if you sell the item locally, then you’ll be paid directly by the buyer when they receive the item. If you choose to ship, you will be paid via the OfferUp app. It's unclear how or if you can cash out your payment once it's in your app account. OfferUp claims you can start listing items for sale within 30 seconds of downloading its app. Simply upload photos of the item, then input a title, category, condition, description of the item, location, and price. Buyers can then ask for more information about the item, or make an offer. As with other apps, make sure you check the restrictions policy and if there are any seller protections. And unlike other apps, OfferUp offers a listing of Safe Trade Spots, to make sure all parties are safe when making in-person transactions. Also be aware that if the app feels your listing violates their guidelines, the administrators can remove it. Note that while it's free to list an item on OfferUp, there is a fee of $1.99 to 12.9% of sale price when item ships.

Does Amazon pay you for FBA?

With FBA Amazon do not pay you in advance for all your stock, you pay them to warehouse your stock! Either way, once an order is marked as dispatched the proceeds of the sale less Amazon fees go into your seller account.

Once you send the item to a buyer you confirm despatch on the order screen. The total paid by the buyer, less amazon fees, is then in your amazon account. Thats usually within seconds or minutes of you confirming the order has been sent on the order page. At a set time this is then sent to your bank account you’ve registered with amazon. New sellers have money held for a time - 30 days I think. Then on to a weekly or 2 weekly schedule of payments. Some accounts have the ability to send payment up to once a day as and when they like too.

Payments take a few days from amazon to get into your bank.

Whatever you do, don’t send any items out unless you have an order on your order screen. There are scams whereby people send stuff out without an actual order, emails just make them think they have an order.
