The challenge hopes to provide minority groups the freedom to create content and gain recognition for the same. This challenge was started by a TikTok user named Tory Bae. In her video, which has now received over 66k views. In the video, Tory says: “If you are a white liberal or consider yourself to be a white ally, I have a challenge for you.” She continues: “Don’t create any more content on TikTok until September 22nd. Honestly, you deserve a break because every day is a white person’s day and you all must be exhausted. So while you sit back, listen, relax, and truly decenter yourself, black indigenous and other people of color, we got it from here.” Tory further adds that these creators have the freedom to like, comment, or even share the content that has been made by others.

Most of the reactions on TikTok have been positive from people as some users believe that the minority creators should get the space to show off their talent. In the past, there has been a lot of discussion about minority creators not getting the recognition they deserve. This became a trending topic when TikTok star Addison Rae appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show. In it, she showed off some dance moves on the then-popular dance trends. However, people were upset as the show failed to highlight the real creators of the dance steps. Jimmy quickly fixed his mistake by giving all the creators a platform to show off their dance skills.
