The HR platform for the entire recruiting cycle, and beyond. Find out more Recruiting the right talent for your organization is no easy task. It's a multi-step process that requires speed and efficiency to source the right candidates before they're snapped up by a competitor. There are many different recruiting software platforms to choose from, and finding the right match can be challenging when you're already managing a heavy workload. To save you time, I've created a list of the top 10 best recruiting software options to support talent acquisition teams, including summaries of key features and how they will improve your recruiting process. With so many variables to consider, it really comes down to what your pinch points are, and where you need help the most. My goal is to support talent and recruitment professionals on their journey to working more effectively, strategically, and successfully.

How I Selected the Best Recruitment Software

You may be wondering just what criteria I used to select the best recruiting software for this list. To build my shortlist, I evaluated and compared the details for many popular recruitment software. I then used my selection criteria below to see how each platform compared to the next one. To further hone my list, I also put myself back into my old recruiting shoes. This helped me recall all the key features I found useful back when I was helping to hire large volumes of candidates myself. If you have general questions about how recruiting software works, I also recommend checking out our Frequently Asked Questions section below. Or, you can skip directly to the software summaries, if that's really what you're after.

Selection Criteria

Here's a short summary of the main selection criteria I used to develop my list of the best recruitment software for this article:

A User-friendly UI and UX:

You won't have any time to waste on clunky software when you're busy chasing down top candidates. Instead, you need recruiting software that has a clear and easy-to-navigate user interface (UI) that organizes your entire recruitment process for you. Helpful UI features I look for include visual recruiting pipelines, colour-coding, or other visual status flags. These simple features help you quickly digest your candidate data at a glance, without needing to open each record to see the status. Solid UI features also go a long way to creating a good user experience (UX). You want to invest in software that will make your day-to-day interactions positive, rather than finding yourself frustrated each time you use it. This is why my choices below all have high scores for usability for their UI and UX. You'll be able to find the information you need quickly, without endless clicking or scrolling.

Workflow automations:

If you're a full-time recruiter, then you know that many aspects of your day-to-day job can be tedious and time-consuming. That's why recruiting software with workflow automations can add a lot of value and help you work more efficiently. Common automations include tools to send out personalized emails in bulk, schedule interviews, or follow up on incomplete tasks. These automations are especially beneficial for teams who have high-volume hiring needs as they will save you a lot of time.

Direct links to job board sites:

Time is precious, so I'm all about time-saving automations. When it comes to recruiting software, another big time-saver is software that automatically integrates with job posting websites. Don't waste your time copying and pasting the same position to 10+ job boards. Instead, let the software do that work for you through their automatic job board integrations. And don't worry, you can always choose which ones to include or exclude.

Mobile-friendly features:

Whether a recruiting system is accessible on mobile devices is important to consider. This is especially true if you're sourcing candidates for an industry with workers who are often mobile or deskless. You'll want a modern recruiting software system that is fully accessible through apps for any mobile device (Android or iOS). Key features to look for include the ability to communicate directly with candidates via text messages, and the option to send mobile-friendly interview packets to candidates on the go. Having mobile-friendly job postings and skill assessments will also help you elicit faster candidate responses, enabling you to hone in on your top candidates quicker.

Integrations:

Integrations with other software systems will improve your overall productivity and help you work more efficiently. That's why I selected recruitment software that offers native integrations with many popular software systems. Key integrations to look for include email providers, digital calendars, human resources information systems (HRIS), skill assessment platforms, and background checking software.

Price:

I always strive to choose software with transparent pricing models. While most of the systems in this list do provide base pricing details, some are only available upon request. However, you can still get a clear understanding of which features are included in the software package they offer, and which aren't, by visiting the pricing pages on their websites. Another important feature to consider is whether the recruiting software offers a free trial, or a free demo. I am a firm believer of test-driving any software before you jump into a contract, so I've included notes on the availability of free trials or demos with each listing below. People Managing People is reader-supported. We may earn a commission when you click through links on our site — learn more about how we aim to stay transparent.

I've also included screenshots to give you a snapshot of their user interface too. 1 ClearCompany Best recruiting software for mobile-friendly and text-based recruiting ClearCompany’s easy-to-use recruiting software is designed to give hiring teams the tools they need to rapidly attract and hire the right talent. Their software has empowered thousands of companies to source, screen, hire, and onboard A-level talent, engage their teams, and use strategic insights to keep their recruiting competitive. Why I picked ClearCompany: I choose ClearCompany because their software offers more than just recruiting tools. They also offer additional modules for related processes like employee onboarding, as well as modules for Workforce Planning & Analytics, Performance Management, and Employee Engagement, making them a very well-rounded piece of HR software. ClearCompany Standout Features & Integrations: Key features in their comprehensive recruiting platform include candidate sourcing, talent pools, and automated screening, grading, and interview scheduling, plus EEO/OFCCP compliance reporting to ensure your hiring practices meet legal regulations. Their mobile and text-friendly tools — including Mobile Apply, Text-to-Apply, 1-on-1 or bulk texting, and mobile-friendly interview packets — also create an exceptional candidate experience for job applicants, while making it easier for recruiters to stay on top of communications from anywhere. One of its main software products, Trakstar Hire, is tailored to facilitate the hiring process for SMBs, recruiting teams, and agencies from start to finish. Why I picked Trakstar: With this tool, the hiring process only needs three key steps to a more efficient and productive hiring process. You can attract the right candidates by creating a professional-looking career website with custom branding. Then, you can post openings on multiple job boards and set up a referral channel to make it easier for current employees and external recruiting firms to refer talent. Once your candidates have been sourced, the web-based ATS takes care of the screening and resume analysis, plus keeping track of promising candidates for you. Trakstar Standout Features & Integrations Features include applicant tracking, candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, offer management, and career site management solutions. It also offers collaborative hiring and reporting functions. Integrations are not available at the moment. What I really liked about Trakstar is the collaborative hiring feature. You can use it to customize your interviewing workflows to get other team members and departments involved in specific steps. Why I picked Pinpoint: Pinpoint is extremely powerful yet easy-to-use with an intuitive design and user experience. Recruiters and hiring managers can get up and running with their software quickly, or request additional help from their customer support team as needed. Pinpoint Standout Features & Integrations: Pinpoint's recruiting software includes core ATS and recruitment CRM features like job board multi-posting and social media advertising, a custom careers website, unlimited customizable workflows, automation, interview scheduling, and employee onboarding. Data protection and security features include single sign-on, two-factor authentication, and tools to help manage compliance with local regulations like the GDPR / CCPA. Other unique features include blind screening to help reduce unconscious bias, candidate scorecards for gathering fast and objective hiring manager feedback, and a suite of reporting tools that includes a custom report builder. To support recruiting, HR managers can use their pre-built templates to build a recruiting tool that caters to their team-specific needs. Why I picked monday.com: Because almost every aspect of the platform is customizable, users have control over how the platform serves them. With no-code automations, HR managers can reduce a lot of the time-consuming manual labor. Instead of updating statuses and sending email notifications, HR managers can simply automate these processes. monday.com Standout Features & Integrations: Features include dozens of templates created specifically for HR, 20+ drag-and-drop columns, hundreds of third-party apps, and useful widgets to customize the platform to your needs. Also, their in-app updates allow you to keep your comments on one platform so you can spend less time chasing down information in email threads. monday.com integrates natively with over 40 popular tools like Adobe Creative Cloud, Dropbox, Google Calendar, LinkedIn, OneDrive, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Zoom. In addition, their API is available to connect any other tool without a pre-built integration, or you can access more software integrations by connecting a paid Zapier account. monday.com Plans & Pricing: While monday.com does offer a freemium version of their tool for up to 2 users, their platform really starts to come alive in the higher paid plans as you unlock automations, integrations, multi-source dashboards, and guest account access. Paid plans start at $11 per user, per month and include a 14-day free trial. 14-day free trial From $10/user/month Visit Website Visit Website 5 Recruitee Best recruiting software for multi-posting to 1,450+ free and paid job boards Recruitee is a robust, affordable, and scalable online recruiting software that helps to decrease time-to-hire with a comprehensive applicant tracking system built right in. Why I picked Recruitee: With Recruitee, you can set up your hiring team and assign permissions-based roles for a collaborative approach to recruitment. Comprehensive visibility options mean that you can hide sensitive data, like salaries and private notes. Recruitee Standout Features & Integrations Features include a customizable CareersHub, multi-posting and smart job campaigns, sourcing and referrals tools, assessment and interviewing tools (or integrations), e-signature and electronic onboarding—all backed by GDPR compliance and automation tools. Zoho Recruit is their answer to recruitment software for corporations, staffing agencies, and temp workforces. Why I picked Zoho Recruit: I included this recruiting agency tool because they offer a sliding scale of customizations and integrations that can really expand what you are able to offer your clients. Additionally, they have staffing tools for temp workers specifically, like a jobs-vs-temps report, flexible timesheet approvals, and detailed scheduling calendars. Zoho Recruit Standout Features & Integrations: Features include the ability to post jobs to multiple job boards simultaneously, workflow automations, recruiting analytics, 24/5 customer support, and organizational resume tools like their text parser that standardizes formatting. Zoho Recruit assessments are great for testing an incoming candidate’s skills but it would be nice if assessments could be easily duplicated so that users don’t have to spend time copy-pasting when something similar is needed. Additionally, being able to time how long it takes candidates to do an assessment would be handy. Zoho Recruit integrates with 45+ other Zoho tools for CRM, finance, marketing, IT, and other departments. Zoho also integrates with third-party apps like Slack, G-Suite, Outlook, Checkr, Mailchimp, ResumeLibrary.com, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Twilio, Indeed, Monster, CareerBuilder, DropBox, and a whole host of others. You can also access hundreds more through a paid plan with Zapier. Zoho Recruit Plans & Pricing: Pricing for Zoho Recruit starts at $30 per user, per month for up to 100 active job postings. They also offer a 15-day free trial, a free demo, and a basic free forever plan that includes candidate management, emailing, job board connections, and interview scheduling. 15-day free trial From $30/user/month for up to 100 active job postings Visit Website Visit Website 8 Wild Noodle Best recruiting software for assessing and hiring programming professionals Wild Noodle is an AI-powered online candidate selection platform designed to assess learning ability, problem-solving, core programming concepts, and algorithmic thinking among multiple technical candidates simply and efficiently. Recruiters can leverage artificial intelligence to optimize candidate selection and decision-making to find the best programmers for the job. The platform's AI-based services are tailored to streamline all facets of the online recruiting process, empowering technical recruiters to be more effective in choosing suitable candidates. Why I picked Wild Noodle: the platform uses gamification as a technical testing strategy, helping recruiters screen candidates quickly and without bias. In addition, the platform evaluates a candidate's ability to learn, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of programming basics. Workable is currently used by Forbes, Soho House, Sephora, and Joey Restaurants. Why I picked Workable: Workable is a great recruitment tool for small businesses and start-ups, as they charge you per job posting rather than per-user or per month. Meaning, if you take 2 or 3 months to find the best candidate, you’re only paying for one instance. Additionally, they give you one job posting for free with access to over 200 job boards, which may be all you need anyway. Workable Standout Features & Integrations: Features include a handy mobile app, thousands of hiring templates, and integrated video interview capabilities. They also have built-in tools to manage employee referrals, source diverse candidates, and mitigate unconscious bias through anonymized candidate screening. Workable requires location field data for job requisition forms and you may run into issues if you designate your company as wholly remote (AKA no physical location). In fact, the requisition forms could use some customizability upgrades all-around to better suit different types of hiring needs. Workable integrates natively with numerous other software systems, including ADP Marketplace, BambooHR, Checkr, Facebook, G Suite, Glassdoor, HRCloud, Indeed, LinkedIn, Microsoft platforms, Monster, Namely, Oracle HCM, RightHire, Sapling, Stack Overflow Talent, Workday, and many other options. They also have an open API to support any additional custom integrations you may need. Workable Plans & Pricing: Pricing for Workable starts at $129 per job, per month. They also offer a 15-day free trial and a free demo. 15-day free trial + free demo From $129/job posting/month Visit Website Visit Website 10 Recruit CRM Best recruiting software including a full CRM system Recruit CRM is a cloud-based recruiting software that combines the capabilities of an applicant tracking system (ATS) and customer relationship management (CRM) platform to make an end-to-end solution for executive search firms and recruitment agencies. Why I picked Recruit CRM: Their software caters mostly to small- and medium-sized firms, helping them manage their recruiting operations, candidate sourcing, day-to-day activities, and client database. Recruit CRM also allows recruiting teams to keep track of job vacancies, hiring status, applicant data, and notifications throughout their candidate pipeline. Recruit CRM Standout Features & Integrations: Features include a robust applicant tracking system, a résumé parser, invoice management, job board posting, team collaboration, and real-time reporting. The software also allows white-labeling, which means that recruiting agencies can personalize their jobs pages, database fields, job application forms, as well as their hiring and sales pipelines. Recruit CRM offers customizable branding, giving users the option to add their company logos and digital signatures on invoices. The résumé parser is a powerful tool that enables recruiting teams to instantly convert a PDF or Word file into a potential candidate profile within just seconds. An advanced search function is also available, with Boolean + Filter search, which searches for keywords in both fields as well as in résumé files. The hotlists/talent pools feature allows agents to tag candidates with similarities in several aspects, including job positions, skill sets, and even location. On the CRM side of the platform, Recruit CRM offers features such as résumé/CV formatting, excel/CSV import support, and easy candidate submission to clients. Integrations with popular software systems are available by connecting Recruit CRM to a paid Zapier account. Recruit CRM Plans & Pricing: Pricing for Recruit CRM starts at $85/user/month for the Team package. The Business plan starts at $119/user/month, while Enterprise is available from $125/user/month. A 14-day free trial is also available, with access to all the features from the website. 14-day free trial From $85/user/month Visit Website Visit Website

Recruiting software is a type of software that assists recruiters and hiring managers in managing the hiring process, including activities such as applicant management, candidate screening, skill assessments, onboarding, and more. This type of software is also often referred to as Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or talent acquisition software. You can often find recruiting management features within larger HR software suites, or on their own within software specific to recruitment. Depending on the size of your recruitment outreach, you are likely dealing with a handful of positions that you’re scouting for simultaneously, all with distinct candidate skills and requirements. On top of that, you have candidates submitting their applications around the clock, vying for your attention and time. Without the right tools, juggling all that information can be overwhelming. By investing in some robust recruiting software, you can expect the following benefits: Less time spent on administrative tasks Faster hiring process for you and candidates Improved quality of hired candidates Improved internal communication between hiring team members and managers Improved candidate experience A streamlined process from end-to-end using customized automations Improved social reach through direct access to job boards and media networks Ability to develop a long-term database of passive candidates for future postings Integration with other HR systems such as onboarding and payroll applications Increased security and data protection By investing in the best recruiting software tool for your business needs, you will suddenly find yourself with a heightened ability to find the best talent for each position. How much does recruiting software cost? Recruiting software pricing varies depending on the size and scope of your outreach efforts. Some software also include a price per number of job postings, which can work well for smaller teams with lower hiring needs. In general, the best recruiting tools tend to cost between $15 to $150 per user, per month. Some systems do include a one-time set-up fee too. However, most recruiting software providers are happy to offer you with a free demo or free trial so you can get a first hand feel for their system before signing up. In addition, some hiring tools, like Zoho Recruit or Recooty, are available for free with limited features such as restrictions on the number of users or active job postings you can have at one time. Not looking for a general recruiting solution? Some of our other software reviews may be of more interest: A good applicant tracking system (ATS) is a core part of the hiring experience.
