Read More »If you have edit rights to the website, you can fix the problem: 1. Confirm and understand the problem Before trying to fix the problem, confirm that your site is being blocked by Google. highly recommend that you Wethat you sign up for Search Console , if you are a website owner. Verified site owners in Search Console will receive notifications when we suspect their site of being hacked, or if it gets flagged for engaging in behavior such as phishing, social engineering, or other harmful activities. Check for browser warning pages Visit the link in Chrome to see if you get an interstitial warning (a Chrome popup or warning page) asking if you want to visit the site. Chrome is part of a program called Safe Browsing that warns users before they visit a site suspected of containing malware, being hacked, or engaging in phishing or other bad behavior. If you get a warning, open the Manual Actions report and Security Issues report for your site in Search Console and look for warnings. If you are not the verified site owner in Search Console, you can visit the Google Safe Browsing transparency report and enter the URL of your site. If it is marked as dangerous, you need to fix your site. If you do not get a warning, the problem may have been resolved since you last tried it. Check for labeled search results Search for a specific page URL in Google and see if the page is labeled. Do a site-restricted search to see if your site is flagged with any warnings in the results. Site-restricted searches are searches that limit all results to a specified site. Try doing a site-restricted search for spammy keywords that you aren't expecting, such as pharmaceutical or luxury brand names that you don't carry, porn terms, or other spammy terms such as "loans". For example, searching for site:example.com viagra will search for the word "viagra" on the site www.example.com. If your site is in Search Console: Open the Manual Actions report and Security Issues report for your site. These reports will show you if your site or page has been flagged as violating spam policies guidelines or has been hacked. Typically you should have received an email of any alerts listed on these pages; if not, verify that you are still configured to receive messages, and that you are not filtering them in email (some hackers change this setting in your account to prevent you from getting messages) If you do not see any warnings, this might be an algorithmically detected issue, and you might not see warnings in Search Console. You will still need to fix the problem, but you will not need to request a review manually after you fix the issue; the next time Google crawls your site, the fix will be detected, and your site will be unflagged. If your site is not in Search Console, see if your site appears in the safe browsing site as a dangerous site. 2. Fix the problem Labeled results For results labeled with warnings in Google Search, test how we see the page or site, try doing a site-restricted search for spammy keywords that you aren't expecting, such as "viagra" or other drugs, luxury brand names that you don't carry, porn terms, or "loans". For example: site:www.example.com viagra If you find pages with these results, your site may have been hacked (see the next section). Hacked websites If you were hacked, you will have to shut down your site, then find, fix, clean the compromised page(s), and secure your site before bringing it back online. We recommend that everyone understand best practices to avoid hacking. However, many hacking attacks these days are quite sophisticated, so unless you feel comfortable looking at .htaccess files or making disk images, we recommend that you find a reliable professional that can clean and fix your site thoroughly, and secure it against additional attacks. Here are some guidelines about fixing a hacked website. Malware Review our definition of malware and unwanted software and fix any issues that you see in your site. Policy issues, legal removals, low quality or spammy pages For content violations, read our Quality Guidelines and fix your site so that it conforms both with those guidelines and Google's policies. For legal issues, you may wish to consult your own attorney. In many cases, Google will send you a notification in Search Console explaining the basis for the legal removal request. 3. Request a review If your site is in Search Console Pages omitted for legal reasons, policy violations, or low-quality/spammy pages: Google will eventually recrawl and re-evaluate your pages; you do not need to request a review by Google. Visit the Security Issues report for your site and select Request a review. In order to submit a review, we ask that you provide more information that the site is cleaned of the hacker’s damage. For example, for each category within Security Issues, you can write a sentence explaining how the site was cleaned (for example, “For Content injection hacked URLs, I removed the spammy content and corrected the vulnerability: updating an out-of-date plugin.”). Be sure that the problem is truly fixed before requesting a review; if the problem still exists, you will only prolong the period of time that your site is flagged as problematic. Reviews for sites infected with malware require a few days to process. Once the review is completed, the response will be available within your Messages in Search Console. require a few days to process. Once the review is completed, the response will be available within your in Search Console. Hacked review process time Reviews for sites hacked with spam may require up to several weeks to process. This is because spam reviews can involve manual investigation or a complete reprocessing of the hacked pages. If the review is approved, Security Issues will no longer display hacked category types or example hacked URLs. If Google finds that your site is clean, warnings from browsers and search results will be removed within a few days after you receive your notice. There is often a slight delay in updates to the warning system. This is because it can take a few days for updates to travel between the Google Safe Browsing database, the Chrome browser, and Search Console's Security or Manual Actions reports. This means that errors are no longer reported for your site in the transparency report, but your browser still shows a warning page for your site. Wait for a day to see if you still see a warning page for a site not listed as dangerous by the transparency report. If your site is not in Search Console Pages omitted for legal reasons, policy violations, or low-quality/spammy pages , Google recrawls your pages periodically and will notice any changes that you make automatically.

Additionally, being flagged may affect your search ranking for a while, so you might not see results on the first page. For omitted or labeled search results: Do a site-restricted search to see if your page appears, or search for your exact page URL. If you do not see any changes after a week, go back to step 1 and verify that you've indeed fixed the problem.
